Luminator è uno dei primi progetti che Pietro Chiesa, già titolare a Milano di una bottega artigiana specializzata nella lavorazione artistica del vetro, firma per FontanaArte, di cui diventa direttore artistico affiancando Gio Ponti.
Prima lampada da terra ad illuminazione indiretta, Luminator è composta da un sottile fusto metallico che si apre a cono e al cui interno si trova la sorgente luminosa.
Unico elemento che poggia su una base circolare, è una lampada di un rigore e una purezza quasi astratte. In assoluto, uno dei pezzi più straordinari disegnati da Pietro Chiesa.
